Recovery: A Greek Healing Sanctuary and its Receptions

One of the most popular gods in ancient Greece was Asklepios, whose mega-sanctuary at Epidauros drew visitors from around the Mediterranean for healing. I’ll take you there virtually to explore how Asklepios, a deified doctor, operated and how his healing compares to that of mortal physicians of the time. We’ll also look at ways that this god and his sanctuary at Epidauros continue to exert their therapeutic influence to this day.
